Duties

The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) views summer interns as our future workforce. The work performed is professional in nature and in a learning environment that gives the student intern the opportunity to evaluate the work for potential long-term employment. Student employment assignments are based on the functions and tasks performed in the organization to which you are assigned and ideally related to your academic and career goals. Please note that this is a program for currently enrolled students, and you must meet the definition of a student throughout the duration of the temporary summer student program.

These positions are located in various offices at the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission.

MOST OF THE JOB OPPORTUNITIES ARE AT NRC HEADQUARTERS IN ROCKVILLE, MD. However, limited engineering and science-oriented opportunities will be available in NRC regional offices: REGION I-King of Prussia, PA; REGION II-Atlanta, GA; REGION III-Lisle, IL; REGION IV-Arlington, TX; and the Technical Training Center in Chattanooga, TN.

Summer 2022 - The appointment is Temporary, Not to Exceed 89 days. These positions are Non-Bargaining Unit. Applications will be accepted from United States citizens, nationals or those who owe allegiance to the United States.
