MIAMI (AP) - Democrat Kendrick Meek is used to answering questions about whether he can make a successful run at Senate.
But he says that when he hears people expressing doubts, it only encourages him more.
Meek said that people also expressed doubts he'd be able to get class-size limits in the state constitution - especially when then Gov. Jeb Bush campaign against it.
The Miami resident says that when people say he can't do something, he takes that as encouragement.
Meek is a former Florida Highway Patrol trooper. He was elected to the state House at 28 and later served in the Senate before winning the U.S. House seat his mother, Carrie Meek, held for 10 years.
