Alabama State University Professor Receives National Business Award for Millennial "Influencers" (3021 hits)

An ASU assistant professor was recently honored as a recipient of a national award that recognizes millennial “influencers.” ASU's Dr. Yvette Holmes, an assistant professor of Marketing, has distinguished herself and the University upon being awarded as one of the "Top 35 Millennial Influencers of America" by the Next Big Thing Movement (NBTM).

Professor Holmes and the other award recipients are from around the nation; working in technology, media, politics, education, finance, health, government, the arts and in other endeavors. Holmes was chosen based on her overall reach, influence and purposeful engagement by a cohort of judges, which included Dolvett Quince of The Biggest Loser; Ami Desai of Wealth TV, executives with the Oprah Winfrey Network; and others.

ASU's award recipient said her top thought in winning this award is helping her students.
“I am excited to bring this honor to the academic community and to also inspire my students to consider careers and advanced study in business,” Holmes said.

Holmes’s award-winning work includes the areas of academic theory, research, as well as business practice. With more than 12 years of professional and academic experience, she relies on her extensive training in management, marketing and business administration to offer business development, strategic marketing and consultative services to entrepreneurs. Her efforts are directed toward helping organizations thrive and adjust in the ever-changing business environment.

In the months to follow, Holmes and her fellow award-winners will tour globally to expand their efforts to link millennial business leaders and professionals.
