LRT Sports announced a "The HBCU Experience: Coaches Panel" to take place on Zoom on Oct. 14, 2020 at 8 p.m. EST, allowing only 1000 participants. The panel will allow student-athletes, parents and other coaches to ask Historically Black Colleges & Universities' (HBCU) coaches the benefits and differences between a HBCU and a traditional university.
LRT Sports is a platform that is dedicated to helping others on their journey of Understanding College Athletics™. Keirsten Sires, CEO, and founder has made it her mission to help athletes stay informed during their recruiting process. She has given workshops at many high schools across the country and wants to bring the same information to you at your home.
LRT Sports is excited to spearhead this panel that will allow a question and answer session from its viewers. The panel will include North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University's (N.C. A&T) Coaches Hal Clifton and Duane Ross, Southern University's Kerrick Jackson and Hampton University's Kenia Cole, Virginia State University Head Football Coach Reggie Barlow (Super Bowl champion) and Bethune-Cook University's Men's Basketball Coach Ryan Ridder.
The panelists on The HBCU Experience: Coaches Panel are all accomplished in their respective sports. Hampton University's Kenia Cole is a Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) Thirty Under 30 Award Recipient in her second year of coaching. Under Coach Duane Ross' lead, N.C. A&T's Track and Field Program has broken six MEAC meet records (indoor and outdoor combined) since Ross became the director of track and field program.
The coaches will talk through subjects that include recruiting processes, benefits of being an athlete at a HBCU, traditions and programs at HBCUs and more.
