The Section Chief, in conjunction with the Deputy ACOS Ambulatory Care, will be responsible for planning, organizing, developing, implementing, controlling, and refining a comprehensive patient management, clinical support, and administrative program. This is a supervisory/leadership position that will report directly to the Deputy Associate Chief of Staff, Ambulatory Care.
The incumbent will be responsible for implementing and leading Primary Care/PACT model transformation at the Lake Nona Campus and other sites as assigned which includes participation in various facility committees. Emphasis will be placed on meeting facility, VISN & VHA strategic goals to include improved access to care, improved efficiency, customer service excellence, self-care & self-management for Veterans, chronic illness management, prevention, & fostering Veteran health & well-being through use of Personal Health Planning. This position will require sound clinical skills, knowledge, & experience in Primary Care operations, flexibility & the ability to role-model & lead change. The transformation within Primary Care/PACT is intended to improve Veteran satisfaction, quality of care, safety, & eventually improved health outcomes, & reduced healthcare costs. The position will require a dynamic, forward-thinking leader who will be required to collaborate with the Primary Care Section Chiefs and Primary Care Supervisors at other locations within Orlando VA Healthcare System to lead forward primary care/PACT operations. Collaborative relationships will also include partnerships within the facility with Nursing Service, HAS, Integrative Health, Social Service, Pharmacy Service, Women's Health, Mental Health, & others.
