The Chief Nurse (Nurse IV) assigned to Mental Health provides executive leadership for Mental Health programs and is responsible for ensuring the delivery of nursing care to patients, and the management of nursing personnel and resources in the Mental Health inpatient units 7A and 7B at the Alvin C. York campus in Murfreesboro, 4N at the Nashville campus, and Mental Health outpatient areas in MHICM, including the Substance Abuse Treatment Team and the Residential Rehabilitation Treatment Program. In addition, provides leadership for the Medical units 1A and the Urgent Care Center on the Alvin C. York campus in Murfreesboro. Provides leadership in maintaining standards of nursing in accordance with system and Nursing Service policies, guidelines of the Department of Veterans Affairs accrediting organizations, and national nursing organizations. Collaborates with the Chief of Mental Health Service, Chief of Medicine Service, Chief of Primary Care, the Deputy Associate Director for Patient Care Services and Associate Director for Patient Care Services to develop goals and objectives that support the strategic plan, meet the needs of the Veteran patients, satisfy staff, and result in positive clinical and administrative outcomes. Ensure services that enhance the Veteran experience while meeting their needs. Provide a positive Veteran experience by listening and engaging Veterans, and responding appropriately and timely to their concerns and needs.
