“AbbVie welcomes not only the professional expertise and experiences, but also the different perspectives that HBCU graduates can contribute towards shaping this culture.”
-Israel Owolabi, Pharm.D, Associate Director, Regulatory Affairs - US Advertising and Promotion, Howard University Alumnus

Empowering employees to thrive and excel
At AbbVie, we realize that greatness doesn't happen in a bubble. It takes all of us learning and growing together to make a difference. We empower our employees to be their best selves — not just at work, but in everyday life. As a member of the AbbVie family, you are part of a culture that values work-life integration, professional development, community service and collaboration.

“If you want a company that is on the cutting edge of health care, education, advocacy, and excellence – AbbVie is that place. We care about people inside and outside of the company.”
-Sherwanna Clarke, Pharm.D., Associate Director, Strategic Events, Florida A&M Alumna

A focus on Equality, Diversity & Inclusion
Embracing equality, diversity and inclusion is fundamental at AbbVie. We are proud to offer an environment that allows our colleagues around the world to achieve their full potential.

“The culture at AbbVie is amazing! We are truly one AbbVie, and all play different roles in an effort to achieve one goal: the success of the company. AbbVie is very supportive in having a work/life balance, which is extremely important to me as a mom.”
-Adrienne Russell, Pharm.D, Medical Science Liaison - Dermatology, Howard University and Morgan State University Alumna

Our Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) are a key part of our creating an environment where every voice is heard and valued. They also focus on networking, mentoring, professional development, talent attraction and fun! One of our original ERGs is the AbbVie Black Business Network.

“It’s important to determine your sense of belonging by asking thoughtful questions of your interviewers during the interview process. Joining Employee Resource Groups, specifically the Black Business Network, has helped me build a community at the company and Chicago in general. I moved up from Florida not knowing anyone. The friendships I’ve made at work have played a key role in my acclimation to the area.”
-Chevone Davis-Raglan, Pharm.D., Marketing Manager, Florida A&M Alumnus

The Black Business Network promotes career advancement and professional development to develop and sustain a black talent engine to groom the next generation of leaders at AbbVie. It also focuses on cultural education, recruitment and retention of black employees.
