Housekeeping Aid
To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements within 30 days of the closing date, 04/15/2019 of this announcement, . EXPERIENCE: A specific length of training and experience is not required, but you must show evidence of training or experience of sufficient scope and quality of your ability to do the work of this position. Evidence which demonstrates you possess the knowledge, skills, and ability to perform the duties of this position must be supported by detailed descriptions of such on your resume. Applicants will be rated in accordance with the OPM Qualification Standard Handbook X-118C. SCREEN-OUT ELEMENT: Your qualifications will first be evaluated against the prescribed screen out element, which usually appears as question 1 in the on-line questionnaire. Those applicants who appear to possess at least the minimal acceptable qualification requirement are considered for further rating; those who do not are rated ineligible and are eliminated. The potential eligibles are then rated against the remainder of the Job Elements:

Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. The physical demands of the position require some heavy lifting of equipment and materials and the movement of furniture (up to 50 pounds). Continuous walking, standing, stooping, bending, lifting, and arduous physical effort are required in the performance to tasks assigned. Occasionally, moderate to heavy physical effort is used in moving, setting-up, and working from ladders and scaffolds. The use of heavy powered equipment (wall washers, industrial-type buffers) is required on a regular and reoccurring basis. ll work will be done inside a climate controlled hospital building. Incumbent will be exposed to odors, blood, and other body fluids and will have potential contact with contagious diseases found in a hospital environment. The incumbent will be provided all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) necessary.
Usually work is performed indoors, in areas which normally have adequate heat, light, and ventilation. Occasionally, the worker is exposed to skin irritations from strong cleaning solutions used in stripping floors, etc., cuts and bruises.
The worker is exposed to dirt and unpleasant odors, vibration from heavy equipment, and skin irritations from cleaning solutions. Care is required to avoid all potential injuries by following safety standards and procedures on a day-to-day basis.
