Quality assurance and product safety are core business principles at Nestlé and the Nestlé Quality Assurance Center (NQAC) is specifically responsible for ensuring that all Nestlé products are safe and that the highest product safety is delivered to Nestlé’s customers. NQAC’s world class microbiological and food chemistry laboratories provide comprehensive testing services to all Nestlé factories, suppliers, and co-manufacturers in North America in order to ensure this quality assurance and product safety mission is continuously reached. POSITION SUMMARY: The QA Specialist is generally given the responsibility of supporting Quality Assurance (QA) projects for internal/external customers. Such activities require leadership, commitment to teamwork, sound judgment, attention to consistency and detail, planned schedules, and close communication with departmental representatives and external customers. Strong verbal, written and computer skills are required in this position. General knowledge of QA principles, ISO 17025, Good Laboratory Practices, audit principles, techniques to verify compliance to various laboratory and manufacturing practices is also necessary. The QA Specialist must keep informed regarding new analytical advances and applications relevant to reference and rapid methods. The ability to research, evaluate, use on-site resources and provide feedback to customers regarding methods in the chemical/microbiological disciplines is necessary. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: Internal Quality Assurance
• Assure quality of laboratory results by maintaining an active role in ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation, site certifications or others as per the required plan for NQAC Dublin, including all aspects of the quality management system. • Assure development, implementation and surveillance of the quality management system structure, including but not limited to execution of internal audits, document and record control, corrective and preventive action system, proficiency test (P-Tests) coordination, quality reviews, improvements etc. • In the specific area of competence, perform surveillance audits and verification of the Market Analytical (Factories and Co-Manufacturers) and Subcontract Labs, per role. • Facilitate and support NQAC Dublin readiness for internal and external audits. • May facilitate, present or execute trainings as needed and/or assignment. • Serves as a source of QA technical expertise, as per role, for analytical groups and the entire NQAC Dublin team and external customer. • Responsible for communication and follow-up with internal QA customers. • Participation in and support of safety programs at NQAC Dublin per role. • Depending on the need, may be assigned to execute external quality assurance activities. This could include 25%-50% travel. • Other duties as assigned.
Training • Provide training to new members of the QA team as per assignment and role. • Attend internal and external training courses and/or programs to develop professionally. • Serve as resource for QA technical knowledge.
Qualifications & Requirements
REQUIREMENTS AND MINIMUM EDUCATION LEVEL:
Undergraduate degree (BA or BS) or equivalent (preferred Chemistry, Food Science, Physics and Microbiology)
