Job Description
Sr. Inventory Clerk
The Facilities Administration Department has an exciting opportunity for a full-time Sr. Inventory Clerk to work in the Medical Campus.

The Sr. Inventory Clerk maintains control of incoming and outgoing supplies and products within the department/unit and leads lower level inventory clerks in day-to-day tasks.

Provides assistance to lower level inventory clerks, which may include training new staff and answering general questions. Compiles and maintains records of quantity, type and value of material, equipment, merchandise, or supplies stocked. Counts material equipment, merchandise or supplies in stock and posts totals to inventory records, manually or using inventory system. Compares inventories to office records or computes figures from records, such as production records, or purchase invoices to obtain current inventory. Verifies clerical computations against physical count of stock and adjusts errors in computation or count, or investigates and reports reasons for discrepancies. Compiles information on receipt or disbursement of material, equipment, merchandise, or supplies, and computes inventory balance, price, and cost. Prepares reports, such as inventory balance, price lists, and shortages. Prepares list of depleted items and recommends review of defective or unusable items. Stocks and issues materials or merchandise. Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.

Qualifications & Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent

Certification and Licensing:



Minimum 3 years of relevant experience

Ability to accurately prepare and maintain records, files, reports and correspondence.

Ability to understand and follow instructions.

Skill in completing assignments accurately and with attention to detail.

Ability to work evenings, nights and weekends as necessary.

Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form.

Ability to lead, motivate, develop and train others.

Department Specific Functions

Responsible for inventory of all items transferred to Surplus Property in accordance with departmental procedures.

Responsible for cross checking Surplus Property Transfer Forms and items received to ensure accuracy and completeness. .

Assist Surplus manager in evaluating all items received to determine final disposition.

Ensures that all items on the sales floor are entered into our inventory system.

Responsible for tagging/pricing all items on sales floor.

Perform on-going cycle counts to ensure inventory quantities reflected in inventory system are true and accurate at all times.

for organizing and restocking items on sale floor.

Serve as back up to the Surplus Property & Storage Manager and Business Operations Manager.

Create and maintain active list of all capital equipment that is sold or disposed.

Responsible for submitting monthly report of disposed assets to Property Accounting.

Maintaining monthly records of completed Surplus Transfer Forms.

Must be able to create and close work order in our work order management system (TMA).

Will serve as a backup to the pickup team and will be assigned smaller pickups as needed.

Maintains log for active storage tenants and available storage space.

Will assist crew with general warehouse duties.

Assist with unloading and loading trucks.

Assist with customers (internal & external) with sales inquiries.

Work closely with Surplus Property manager on Special Projects, (such as adding items to auction platform).

Must be able to become forklift operator certified.

Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
