Job Description

The University Technology Office (UTO) is at the forefront of developing IT platforms and tools that add value to the student experience. As part of the UTO, the Integrations Developer plays a vital role in integrating ASU’s Enterprise Systems with each other as well as with our external partners. In addition, ASU is continuing to develop an API strategy to be used to accelerate development across multiple engineering domains. Finally, the Integrations Developer will be instrumental in creating APIs that can be used by the broader community for accessing public information. The right candidate in this position will be exposed to a broad range of technologies and this will provide many opportunities to advance within this position or to cross-over into other engineering disciplines at ASU.
Responsible for software analysis, design, development, documentation, defect resolution, and implementation of MuleSoft Enterprise Service Bus flows and associated software applications. As with everyone in the UTO family, culture and communications are core responsibilities in this role.

Essential Duties
• Create Mulesoft flows on the Mulesoft Enterprise Service Bus utilizing the Anypoint Platform and Anypoint Studio to provide various services and APIs.
• Participate in all phases of the development life cycle, including requirements gathering, design, development, testing, deployment, transition, and support
• Maintain strong technical skills in relevant integration areas such as Dataweave, SOA, JMS, BPEL, BPMN, Java, Spring, Groovy, SOAP, XML, XQuery, JQuery, and XPath
• Utilize strong design and development patterns and frameworks to ensure solutions are sound and meet the client requirements
• Verify the scope of work provided to you is in line with the estimated delivery timeline, provide accurate status updates, and immediately notify the project manager if there is a concern about the ability to deliver according to expectations on time or quality
• Follow good practices and project guidelines in all cases including the use of source code control, automated testing and deployment approaches, test-case-based development, and proper documentation practices.
• Continue to develop professional and technical knowledge by working with other team members, attending workshops and webinars, reading industry publications, and participating in technology communities
• Contribute to the ASU University Technology Office development team by sharing knowledge, assisting others, and keeping up with the new trends and best practices as they evolve in the industry
• Identify and quickly escalate potential issues with solution design, packaged software, client resources, or anything else that impacts your ability to deliver according to expectations
• Attend required meetings and calls on time and with adequate preparation
• Take responsibility for fostering culture, advancing our values, and championing engagement in all its forms -- collaborating across our teams as well as participating in UTO/ASU events and programs.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 3 years working as a Mulesoft developer or with a similar Integration/API development platform. Strong knowledge of SOAP and REST. A history working with relational databases such as Oracle and can demonstrate SQL proficiency. Candidate must be eligible to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.

Desired Qualifications
• Evidence of a Mulesoft developer certification.
• Experience in Oracle or other relational database
• Experience in Java development capabilities.
• Demonstrated knowledge with HTML/XML/JSON.
• Demonstrated knowledge of or practical experience with AWS Application Integration services.
• Experience integrating with large enterprise applications such as PeopleSoft,
• Experience in Salesforce, Canvas, Workday, ServiceNow, Slack, JIRA.
• Experience writing Junit or Munit tests.
• Experience in modeling empathy, compassion and emotional intelligence
• Experience hiring in a values-led organization, emphasizing diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging
• Experience in fostering a safe psychological space for all teammates where everyone can thrive
• Experience in stimulating changes in individual, institutional, and corporate behaviors to create a more sustainable environment
• Experience in leading by example in communicating, participating and encouraging support of the institution’s sustainability programs

Working Environment
• Activities are performed in an environmentally controlled office setting subject to extended
• periods of sitting, keyboarding and manipulating a computer mouse (75%); required to
• stand for varying lengths of time and walk moderate distances to perform work (10%).
• Frequent bending, reaching, lifting, pushing and pulling up to 25 pounds (15%).
• Regular activities require ability to quickly change priorities, which may include and/or are
• subject to resolution of conflicts.
• Ability to clearly communicate verbally, read, write, see and hear to perform essential
