JOB SUMMARY



We have an immediate need for a project manager to join our team, reporting into the head of program management.  This role requires strong leadership as the duties include high level client interaction, and crosses over virtually every department within the company.  Being Client-centric is in your DNA, and your ability to work with diverse backgrounds and personalities is critical.



Success comes via strong project management, planning and testing experience as well as exposure to various technologies and manufacturing methods.



This position is located at Response Technologies headquarters in Coventry, Rhode Island.



 



PRIMARY POSITION DUTIES 





  • Develop project goals, objectives, approach, and scope through negotiation and diplomacy that result in a well-defined, well-sponsored project




  • Develop, execute, monitor and report project plans, schedules, budgets and metrics to meet the project goals




  • Work independently but recognize when the involvement of senior management is required




  • Plan, manage and oversee projects, using recognized project management methods (project definition, scope and objectives, reporting tools, feasibility and cost studies, requirements definition, creation/performing/reporting on test plans, documentation, etc.)




  • Manage projects within the context of the larger environment including competing priorities, staffing levels, budgetary concerns, etc.




  • Provide appropriate and timely problem escalation (including potential solutions where applicable)




  • Track and monitor actions items, schedules, and metrics per functional area of support, providing on-going project status reports (both internal and client-facing)




  • Establish and create a positive project environment through leadership




  • Overall coordination within the organizations involved in the program (Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality, Customer Service, Finance, Marketing, etc.)




  • Informally provide leadership and guidance to other staff members




  • Understand the Response Technologies products and capabilities, and have the ability to present and demonstrate both internally and to clients




  • Assist with the development and support negotiations of proposals, new contracts and any amendments to current agreements




  • Interface with our stakeholders, partners, and suppliers on program specific issues, schedules, processes and activities - playing a visible, vital, tactical and strategic role in the formulation and execution of the program’s specific plans and actions




  • Communicate with functional team members on impacting activities and initiatives




  • Organize and coordinate customers’, teammates and suppliers activities and briefings, test events, etc.




  • Support cross-functional teams with current business, strategic pursuits and operational initiatives





 


Qualifications & Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS



•    Bachelors Degree with a major in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, IT or similar discipline

•    Minimum of 5 years of related Project Management, Research and Development, Operations and or Supply Chain experience. Defense or rotorcraft industry is strongly preferred. 

•    Experience working in a design and manufacturing environment with a continuous improvement focus is preferred

•    Fully competent in necessary project management tools such as Smartsheet or MS Project as well as MS Word and Excel and SharePoint

•    Must be comfortable reporting project opportunities, plans, progress and initiatives to executive-level management, customers and suppliers as this is a customer facing role

•    Demonstrated success in modern project management 

•    Highly motivated and dedicated individual capable of functioning in a very fast-paced environment, with the ability to champion change and lead continuous improvement in the processes and performance of their programs

•    Self-starter with excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills with a high attention to detail.

•    Able to travel up to 30 percent (domestic)

•    Must be able to verify US citizenship  



PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

•    Six Sigma Lean Certification and Black Belt

•    Knowledge of and experience with AS9100

•    Proven track record dealing with suppliers, customers or the sale of aftermarket products

•    Effective communicating and getting results across functional and site boundaries

•    Executive level presentation development experience
