Tetra Tech is currently seeking applicants for a summer intern position within our Michigan Bridge Design Group. Candidates should be highly motivated, self-starting individuals with an interest in transportation/infrastructure bridge design. As part of the bridge design group, you will be assisting with the design of bridges, culverts, walls and other general highway facilities, and will train and work under the close supervision of our team of recognized industry experts.
Tetra Tech is looking to fill this position for May 2022, but the right candidate could start immediately with part-time and flexible hours available during the school semester.
Success in the role could result in an offer of part-time hours during school, potential for work from home, subsequent summer internships and/or an offer of a full-time entry-level engineering position after graduation.
- Support engineering staff with various roadway and/or bridge design tasks.
- Assist with load rating existing structures
- Perform plan production including 3D Modeling and CADD
- Prepare project construction quantity calculations and cost estimates
- Increasing responsibilities as expertise grows
Qualifications
Ideal candidates will be pursuing a degree in Civil Engineering (structural focus is a plus). Previous experience with Microstation, Geopak or similar CAD software is favorable. Must possess a valid driver license, with a favorable driver’s record. If you are a self-starter who can enthusiastically take on new challenges, this is the role you have been looking for!
