Nurse Residency Program %2410K Sign On Bonus





Nurse Residency Program-Summer 2022



$10,000 Sign-On Bonus/Relocation Incentive offered for eligible applicants



Our Program is accepting new applicants for the Summer 2022 cohort.



This targets the new graduate nurse or the RN with less than 6 months RN work experience upon application- the new graduate nurse that will have successfully taken NCLEX prior to the program start date of July 2022. The Nurse Residency Program is one year with a 2nd year commitment.




  • If graduating with an ASN degree your Track options available- Wilson County Hospital. ( if you are a current Vanderbilt employee for at least 1 year and graduating with an ASN degree , all track options available)



Current Application Timeline:  February 16, 2022 to April 28, 2022-all applicants. Our track options are listed within the application to include our Adult Acute Care Tracks , Adult Ambulatory Clinics, Adult Cardiac Stepdown Tracks, and Vanderbilt Wilson County Hospital.

Our start date: July 18, 2022-Adult Acute Care tracks; July 25, 2022-All other tracks.

Process:



Step 1: Enter your Resume, Education, Work history, Unit Selection , and Answer the Pre-Screen Questions. After this is received & reviewed you will receive Part 2 to-Video Record your interview with our provided- Interview Stream link. 



Step 2: Your Application & Video Recorded Interview will then be reviewed and forwarded to our Departments.



Step 3: Virtual Department Conversation.



The Nurse Residency Program is a one year program designed for nursing graduates or nurses (RN) with less than six months (at the time of application) of nursing experience. 



Upon graduation and obtaining a degree in Nursing from an NLN or CCNE state-approved program the Graduate Nurse will enter the VUMC Nurse Residency Program (NRP). The Nurse Resident will participate in the implementation of patient care under the supervision of a licensed Registered Nurse.



Nurse residents are required to be licensed prior to their start date. Residents that can provide official documentation of successful NCLEX results and pending application for TN RN licensure (or a state that is part of the enhanced nurse licensure compact) will be considered eligible to start.



Candidates will be required to have at least a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing to be eligible to apply.   ASN degree is considered for our current employees employed for one year in at least part time hours.



 Full-time hours 36-40 hours per week is required during the first year of the Nurse Residency Program.



This position requires Graduation from an accredited nursing program



Required:Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation

JOB SUMMARY:

Participates in patient care under the supervision of a licensed Registered Nurse until licensed. After passing the NCLEX licensing examination and has an active RN license in the state of TN, applies the nursing process to plan and implement the care of patients, including patient and family education and continuum of care planning. Effectively communicates pertinent patient/family information to the health care team. Collaborates in establishing patient goals and evaluates progress to ensure effective outcomes. Furthers professional growth by engaging in learning activities according to the Board of Nursing standards.



KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:




  • Collaborates in establishing the plan of care, coordinates and implements care delivery while anticipating patient care needs across the continuum.

  • Analyzes comprehensive information pertinent to the patient's care and management to determine nursing diagnosis.

  • Continually utilizes the nursing process to evaluate patient's progress towards goals and applies appropriate interventions to ensure effective outcomes.

  • Employs strategies to promote health and a safe and healthy environment.

Qualifications & Requirements

Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent experience) in Nursing from an NLN or CCNE accredited and state-approved program. and < 1 year relevant experience



Licensure, Certification, and/or Registration (LCR):
