The Strategic Key Accounts Program Manager is part of the commercial organization supporting the BioProduction Group portfolio which provides biotechnology and biopharmaceutical customers with integrated ​​solutions across the entire bioproduction workflow. Our technologies include:​ Cell Culture; Cellular Medicine; Chromatography; Pharma Analytics; Single Use Technologies; Production Chemicals and GMP Supply Chain Services.

How will you make an impact?
As the Strategic Key Accounts Program Manager you will work closely with the Global Strategic Account Team group, division, businesses and corporate partners to ensure we are connecting our customers with Thermo Fisher Scientific services and capabilities to drive their success. This position leads coordinates strategic initiatives to advance the Global Core Accounts internal program and workstream initiatives with our most valuable customers. The key to our success is largely dependent on the stellar ability of our program management team. We’re currently searching for an experienced program manager to join our ranks and continue our tradition of success. The ideal candidate will have a sharp business mind and a proven ability to strategize and implement high-level program initiatives. As a natural born leader, you will have a strong talent for project coordination and delegation. Ultimately, you are motivated by the desire to optimize productivity and nurture program success from inception to completion.

What will you do?
  • Elevate strategic engagement at strategic accounts.
    • Lead customer specific projects to address key account needs and opportunities that will strengthen our partnership and growth at the account.
    • Work closely with project sponsor, cross-functional teams, and assigned project managers to plan and develop scope, deliverables, required resources, work plan, and timing for new initiatives
    • Organizing daily activities, based on the goals of the Core Account and Customer Relationship Excellence program (CRE).
    • Engage situationally at accounts with project management expertise to lead highly complex projects. Meeting with stakeholders to discuss program status and goals.
    • Devising new programs that support the Core Account Teams objectives.
    • Develop and report on customer facing scorecards and metrics based on feedback and needs. Coordinate and promote success of the program throughout the Commercial and relevant BPG team through a Monthly Bulletin.
    • Working with the divisions/ business units to develop, improve, and execute strategic objectives that grow sales and market share of Thermo Fisher BioProduction products within the Strategic Accounts.
    • Ensuring goals are met including customer satisfaction, technical engagements, supply chain, Quality, and team performance.
    • Build strong working relationship, effectively engage Account Counterparts, leveraging PPI tools. Continually evaluating and assessing the programs’ strengths and weaknesses.
    • Understand the life sciences/BPG industry and market trends, as well as readily assimilate technical knowledge and translate into business opportunities.
    • Experience putting together Strategic Account Plans (ie, Miller Heiman -Gold Sheets) as part of standard work procedure.
  • Drive operational excellence in account management and customer engagement processes.
    • Serve as subject matter expert and mentor to direct colleagues to expand reach and impact across accounts.
    • Engage situationally at accounts where high expertise is needed to resolve complex account issues.
    • Take leading role to partner with team members to ensure memorialization of processes and best practices.
    • Be constructively critical of current processes to identify and deploy process improvements.
    • Leverage Partnership Health Survey findings to identify potential areas of operational/performance improvement, and play a leadership role in coordinating and tracking resulting projects and activities.
How will you get there?
  • Bachelor’s degree required (business administration and/or life sciences preferred). Advanced scientific degree and an MBA preferred.
  • 5+ years in a business management role (preference for program management)
  • Exceptional leadership, time management, facilitation, and organizational skills
  • Ability to influence, negotiate, and operate in a matrix environment
  • Outstanding knowledge of change management principles and performance evaluation processes

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
  • Strong commercial orientation with a passion to understand, develop, improve, and streamline sales processes to support team in establishing productive internal and customer collaborations.
  • Strong self-direction and willingness to take ownership over specific activities.
  • Robust project management skills with ability to prioritize and manage multiple parallel projects.
  • Ability to interact professionally with diverse group including VPs, directors, managers, subject matter experts, end-users.
  • A team player with a bias for action and driving projects to fruition.
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, and SharePoint)
  • Expert in building effective internal and customer communication materials
  • Excellent interpersonal, presentation, verbal and written communication skills
  • Travel up 25% of the time.
