Location/Division Specific Information

The Sr. Manager, Market Development, North America for the Biosciences Division is a member of the marketing team, responsible for the implementation of the Go-to-Market strategy and demand generation for the North American Region Bioscience Protein and Cell Analysis market. They will lead a team that will drive the development and execution of channel optimization marketing efforts in conjunction with global business partners to support the Bioscience sales force that sells in a dynamic market environment.

A successful candidate will be results and value-oriented leader and will coordinate closely with the Bioscience Global Market Development team, as well as other cross-divisional marketing and support teams at various levels in the company to lead, develop and implement integrated marketing programs crafted to communicate the customer value proposition and achieve North America sales, marketing, and revenue goals.

As a successful program leader and liaison to internal and external customers in order to drive, influence and facilitate the conversion of marketing ideas and messages into effective marketing programs leading to revenue, improved customer engagement, and sales growth.

This is a high visibility position to corporate and divisional leaders requiring executive presence and professional savvy. A successful candidate should be able to empower and influence without direct authority to achieve their goals and business targets.

What will you do?

  • Identify new market trends, opportunities and challenges by collecting feedback from internal and external customers to advise broader business/market development strategies.
  • Achieve financial and market goals for designated portfolio by leading your team to develop and deploy strategies, that communicate our value and brand directly to our customers.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to develop action plans and lead generation programs that drive growth in key channels and delight customers over the long-term.
  • Monitor and report on effectiveness of business performance for portfolio by using data and analytics to make strategic recommendations.

How will you get here?


  • Bachelor’s degree in biology, biochemistry or related biological science field required.
  • Master’s degree in life sciences or MBA in marketing or business preferred.


  • 8+ years’ experience in a strategic/tactical marketing role and/or product management/marketing in life sciences.
  • Familiarity with Agile marketing practices preferred.
  • Previous people manager experience preferred.
  • A strong marketing performance history of bringing customer value and sales and marketing strategies including web, ecommerce, social and other digital channels to success.
  • A strong history and experience within marketing functions, planning, strategy and execution; life science markets, segments and competitors.
  • A strong understanding of business model development, executive presentation skills and overall business acuity.

  • A functional understanding of life sciences
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret business problems and identify business needs out of data
  • Ability to optimally communicate go-to-market strategies, metrics, successes, failures, working methodologies etc to improve overall marketing efficiency
  • Proactively and consistently play an active, positive role in working through various levels of operating mechanisms; partners to achieve goals of the company, customer, and colleagues.
  • Ability to travel up to 25%.
  • Ability to influence others to reach agreement and gain support for strategies.
