
ABOUT THE POSITION
VHB is seeking a Transportation Engineer to join our Orlando, FL team. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a dynamic team, across diverse disciplines, giving you exposure to a wide variety of projects in size and scope.
Responsibilities
- Work within a team of professionals in developing transportation planning studies, report documents, and transportation master and action plans
- Conduct traffic analysis, concept development, and traffic operations studies
- Assist with the development of smart cities and emerging transportation technologies planning studies, concept development and implementation planning
- Assist with development of support materials for public involvement activities
- Support with authorship of project-related documentation for a range of transportation planning studies, demographic analyses, and multi-modal / transit-oriented projects
- Perform field data collection and other on-site project support activities
- Review transportation studies and policy documents
Skills & Abilities
- Working knowledge of software such as Synchro, SIDRA, and HCS
- Working knowledge of data analysis tools such as ArcGIS and Excel
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
- Team-oriented with strong capability to work independently
- A strong work ethic with the desire to learn and achieve
- The ability to work on multiple projects
- Capability to work remotely, as needed
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years professional experience beyond research and academia
- Experience with FDOT projects recommended
- Candidates must have a BS in Civil Engineering
- EIT or PE Registration preferred
