This position will support Genentech\u2019s Hillsboro Individualized Therapies (HIT) plant.\u00A0 HIT, located in Hillsboro, OR, is a new facility that manufactures advanced immunotherapies for cancer patients. We are on a journey to shape the future of individualized therapy manufacturing. As a pioneering force in our field, we are committed to creating therapies that change lives and are seeking a visionary and accomplished Director of Program Management and Business Strategy to lead our Project Management Office (PMO).

Project and Portfolio Management Lead Responsibilities:

  • Drive project prioritization while ensuring business processes are streamlined and methodologies are optimized for effective program management.

  • Provide strategic leadership to the PMO unit and drive its growth and cross-portfolio value.

  • Enable a network of Project Managers to directly influence the HIT organization and achieve results for their respective projects.

  • Collaborate and work closely with the Site Head and leadership members to ensure holistic, enterprise-wide alignment and integration at the site, functional and organizational level for HIT.

  • Strategic and systems thinker who proactively anticipates business risks and has a strong drive for execution with a compliance focus.\u00A0\u00A0

  • Demonstrate experience and success with building networks and collaborating with senior level leaders and partners.\u00A0\u00A0

  • Guide an agile project team so that project objectives (schedule/cost/quality, safety) are met.

  • Progress tracking and coordination with overall project management and alignment with individual project streams.

  • Jointly develop project requirements with the HIT leadership team and identify possible alternative solutions.

  • Plan and track the respective project milestones, quarterly reporting to the HIT leadership team, scope and change management, project risk management, and stakeholder management.

Business Strategy Responsibilities:

Facilitates the yearly goal setting process for HIT leadership team and partners to manage and track goals to ensure objectives are met throughout the year

  • Risk Management and Business Continuity Management - Enabling risk mitigation strategies to be defined and intentionally owned by appropriate teams

  • Enable strategic analysis of business objectives at HIT to support Pharma Technical\u2019s Cell and Gene Therapy ambitions

  • Work with site LT to create vision, communicate action plan with relevant partners and stakeholders executing the business initiatives and sustaining implementation efforts

  • Takes responsibility, drives results, and achieves expected outcomes

  • Be an active and visible change agent, fostering a flexible and open mindset to new opportunities and continuous improvement

  • Outstanding ability to develop effective cross-functional relationships across the value chain, influence, solve problems and resolve conflicts in a proactive and constructive manner

  • An independent self-starter with the ability to resolve business challenges and implement improvements

  • Develop, analyze, and leverage key metrics to improve overall business performance\u00A0

  • Ensure timely and effective communication with all levels of the organization

  • Strong networking skills and a focus on cross functional collaboration

  • Promote best practice sharing and adoption aimed at continuously improving network standard processes

Position Requirements:

  • Demonstrated expertise in Technology transfers, specifically within the Cell and Gene Therapy field

  • A track record of effectively navigating complex matrices and exercising significant influence in a medium to large organization

  • A deep understanding of the dynamics of high-performance organizations, coupled with an unwavering drive to remove barriers in pursuit of organizational success

  • Proven experience in leading project teams with matrix responsibilities

  • Proven ability to foster collaborative, inclusive, and respectful work environments

  • A demonstrated ability to develop and articulate compelling proposals and recommendations

  • A Bachelor's degree in life sciences or engineering is required, an MBA is a plus\u00A0

  • Advanced degree in life sciences or equivalent, or equivalent work as demonstrated with at least 5-10 years of hands-on experience in the pharmaceutical industry, with direct involvement in scientific aspects relevant to drug development and clinical manufacturing

  • A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in project management, with a strong preference for PMI certification\u00A0
