About the Team
PetSmart Veterinary Services (PVS) is an independent veterinary ownership model that is rapidly growing inside PetSmart locations in the US and Puerto Rico. PVS provides a complete solution for veterinarians to open their own franchised veterinary practice. Launched in 2022, PVS hospitals connect pet parents with local, trusted veterinarians with convenient veterinarian hospital locations within PetSmart stores. It’s a simple but powerful solution that gives veterinarians ownership and control of their practice while providing high-quality veterinary care. About the Location
Hybrid Position: This position may be considered Hybrid based on PetSmart’s FlexSmart policy and business needs. A Hybrid work arrangement is considered to be a blend of onsite and remote work activity. Associates with a Hybrid work arrangement have a work space at Phoenix Home Office and can be required to come onsite between 1-5 days a week as determined by leadership and based on business needs. Fully Remote Position: This position is considered to be Fully Remote and work is done from another location outside of Phoenix Home Office (within the United States). Associates that are considered to be Fully Remote do not have a work space at Phoenix Home Office and can expect to be asked to travel to Phoenix Home Office several times a year [or more], based on business needs and in partnership with leadership. About the Job: This job is responsible for establishing unparalleled partnerships with franchisees and delivering concierge-level service to our doctor owners by advising them on best practices and providing recommendations to move them closer to their goals. From the initial stages of opening to ongoing operations, you'll be at the forefront of providing top-notch support and ensuring the success of our veterinary hospitals. With a focus on delivering first-in-class support, you'll utilize analytics to drive performance improvements and enhance the overall success of our hospitals. Collaboration with various cross-functional teams, both internal and external, will be essential to achieve our goals across multiple time zones. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: - Cultivate strong partnerships between franchisees, doctor owners, and all internal and external partners.
- Provide first-class consultation and concierge-level service to our doctor owners, ensuring their needs are met and exceeded.
- Help practice owners meet their goals by providing recommendations based on data and market research. Conduct thorough assessments of hospitals to identify opportunities in veterinary hospitals.
- Influence with a collaborative nature to direct change and support our doctors.
- Interpret Profit and Loss (P&L) statements to evaluate the financial health of veterinary hospitals.
- Develop data-based action plans and provide recommendations to address performance issues and drive improvement.
- Support initial marketing efforts and take a lead role in organizing grand openings to create a memorable experience for all stakeholders.
- Teach and drive ongoing marketing efforts to attract additional clients to our locations, leveraging data analytics to refine strategies.
- Conduct basic analytics to assess hospital performance and identify areas for improvement, serving as a consultant to enhance performance.
- Foster cross-functional collaboration with multiple teams across various time zones to optimize operations and achieve success.
- Act as the main point of contact for franchisees, coordinating issue resolution and ensuring seamless business operations.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships within PetSmart Veterinary Services and among all our owners, promoting collaboration and mutual success.
- Demonstrate strong critical thinking skills and the ability to work independently to solve complex problems.
- Participate in conferences.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE - Bachelor's degree or CVPM (preferred)
- 5+ years of veterinary management acting as a practice manager, field director or operations manager.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Exceptional communication and detailed oriented
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with franchisees, colleagues, and stakeholders.
- Highly motivated, inquisitive, and self-starter who can multi-task and effectively manage priorities to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Travel 50%+
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES This position will have 0 direct reports. TECHNICAL SKILLS REQUIRED - Must be proficient in using the Microsoft Office Suite
- Knowledge and proficiency with other business systems as required by specific roles
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS - Project Management is highly preferred.
