Along with other members of our Community Democratic Activity Group, I was honored to have Mr. Meek come to our small gathering and speak. In the time he had to talk to us, we were captured by what he had to say and by who he was.
We have to open our eyes and our minds and listen to what is really happening out there. We are intelligent people and don't need the Becks and Limbaughs of this world to tell us how to think.
We need young, energetic people like Mr. Meek to keep us going forward and represent our needs in the U.S. Senate. It is time to remind our elected officials that without us, they wouldn't be where they are today, and working for us is why they are there.
We need more people like Kendrick Meek. We have the opportunity to have a quality person willing to work for us in a thankless job. It would be our loss to let such a fine, young man slip through our fingers.
