MIAMI GARDENS, FLA. - The Kendrick Meek for Florida campaign released a video today of Kendrick's speech at the America's Future Now conference (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JzwetgvGNm8), one of the largest meetings of progressive activists in the country. He used BP and the oil spill crisis to forcefully criticize the culture of corporate irresponsibility and advance reforms that benefit middle class Floridians.
"Corporate greed should not go unpunished. Individuals should go to jail, and people should pay the price for this disaster they have caused," Kendrick told the crowd. "BP will not sleep well because they know there's a 6' 3, 250-pound member of Congress that's thinking about them and will make them accountable in this disaster."
Kendrick has fought for middle class Florida families and against reckless corporate interests his entire career, and progressive groups and activists from across the country are coming together to support Kendrick's candidacy. Kendrick is the only candidate in the U.S. Senate race who fought against offshore drilling both before and after the spill. He also worked hard to get President Obama's health care reform enacted.
Kendrick has received the endorsement of groups and individuals leading the progressive movement. You can view that list here (http://www.kendrickmeek.com/pages/319/).
