This coming week BSI will celebrate its first year in operation. Our first feature was Dr. Adriane Randolph, Director of the BrainLab about her work on the brain-computer interface.

She gained national recognition for her 1900 speech "How the Sisters Are Hindered from Helping" and her booklet entitled "The 12 Things The Negro Must Do For Himself."

She was an educator, activist, and a woman of many firsts: 1st African-American female editor in North American, 1st African-American female to enroll at Howard University Law School, and the 1st African-American woman to cast a vote in a national election.
