MIAMI GARDENS, FLA. - Ft. Lauderdale Mayor John P. "Jack" Seiler and six other Broward County mayors announced their endorsements of Kendrick Meek for U.S. Senate.
"Kendrick Meek has always led by rolling up his sleeves and getting the job done. Kendrick stands with and for people who work hard to better their community through hands on action. Kendrick Meek is committed to the economic growth of our cities, and the diverse neighborhoods and communities throughout Broward County will be better off with Kendrick giving voice to our concerns. We need a leader like Kendrick and I know that when elected, he will be a fighter for us," said Ft. Lauderdale Mayor Jack Seiler.
"Our campaign is honored to receive the endorsements of these leaders who shoulder a great weight as mayors of our cities. These mayors stand where the rubber meets the road. For these mayors, unemployment data is not measured in numbers, but rather in real people who are personally affected by the economic downturn. They deserve a senator who will fight hard to bring jobs to their cities, just as they are fighting hard everyday for people who call Broward County home. They will have an equal partner working with them to help their cities experience economic prosperity once again," said Kendrick Meek, Democratic candidate for U.S. Senate.
Six other Broward mayors endorsed Kendrick. They are:
Mayor Scott Brook of Coral Springs
Mayor Peggy Noland of Deerfield Beach
Mayor Barrington Russell of Lauderdale Lakes
Mayor Joseph Varsallone of Margate
Mayor Jack Brady of North Lauderdale
Mayor Eric Jones from the City of West Park
