Respectfully to all members of the forum, the above link, while slanted in elements of commentary, provides conclusive visual evidence that Nubians were not the founders of ancient Egypt any more than the Anglo-Caucasians. One comment was true…mummies don’t lie. My own comment is, “Seeing is believing.” Watch the link and decide for yourselves. If I’m wrong on the facts, please tell me how. Referenced facts can always serve to alter my opinion.
Factually, the Nubian people worked their way up the Nile at a time when Egypt had been greatly weakened and conquered the 25th and final native Egyptian Dynasty. Nubians were also present in varying numbers throughout the nation’s history.
As an indigenous American I have no particular love for whites any more than it appears regular forum participants possess. I simply take exception when people of any color misappropriate the history of others to boost their own positions. With regard to the remaining list of inventions, there are precursors to most found in various other cultures. References abound. Certainly, many advances are recent as science has only been widely accepted over the last 200 years or so. That, however, gives no call to try to fudge dates or cut out people when they earned it.
I do agree there have been many great black thinkers throughout the centuries. I also believe the finest in history have likely been lost to time. Humanity only has a scant few centuries with which to evaluate black thinkers as much of black history prior to the export of black slaves was almost exclusively oral in nature or represented in frescoes and paintings by other non-black cultures. Little exists of the Queen of Sheba other than the recently discovered foundation of her palace and some mention in the bible. There are also some trade records substantiating the existence of this country. There is also evidence of a strong Egyptian influence upon that nation’s development.
All these things stated, I see nothing for black people to take shame or excessive pride in in this world any more than the next person. One cannot be held responsible, rightly, for the actions or inactions of their progenitors. While those things may define a person’s origin and where they start in life it does not define the sum-total of what an individual may be. The more anyone obsesses on the past the more they remain a slave, yes…a slave, to it.
I have seen blacks stand proudly among the brightest and most gifted people I have met. I have met many gifted people. What I see holding black Americans back is what I see similarly in my own people: the defeats of the past haunts us.
I grew up on a reservation, not a project. Yet the greatest Africans to me are the simple men and women living in the bush of their native land. They own nothing, yet are generous. They have not pride, but self-respect. They assume this in others and treat people the way they wish to be treated. They don’t force their will on others through intimidation and excuse it under the false guise of obtaining respect. They simple accept that they should be respected as a fellow person as their God given right.
All people can learn from this example. I leave you with this: Our worth is not measured by the color of our skin, what we have invented, own or have taken. It is inherent in our very existence. A homeless woman on a street has dignity until she decides not to and acts in an undignified manner. Possession of a dwelling does not confer or deny her dignity. Yet she, as with all of us, can choose to pick it up again at will. Do not perpetuate well meaning mis-truth in order to obtain what you have by right of your very existence.

I won't be writing on that forum, and btw they need writers there. No one ethnic group is better than any other IMHO.
