Alabama State Hosts Inaugural HBCU Presidents’ Summit on STEM (1323 hits)

Historically Black College and University (HBCU) presidents from across the nation will gather on the campus of Alabama State University March 13 - 15, where ASU is hosting the inaugural HBCU Presidents’ Summit on STEM, sponsored by the National Science Foundation (NSF).

A first-of-its-kind event, the summit is a groundbreaking meeting of the minds for this diverse group of university presidents, who will explore collaborative opportunities to advance excellence, innovation and education in STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) disciplines.

Featuring relevant and notable national, regional and local speakers and presenters, as well as workshops and strategic discussions, the summit will include technical assistance sessions presented by NSF facilitators and representatives from a number of topic-relevant governmental agencies.

"The HBCU Presidents’ Summit on STEM is a unique opportunity for the leaders of some of the country’s most prestigious and historic institutions of higher education to unite and seek collaborative initiatives that will level the playing field of opportunities for schools and students alike in relation to STEM academics, research and innovations," said ASU President Gwendolyn E. Boyd.
