Alabama State University Sponsors Two Suicide Prevention Events - Tuesday Morning & Evening (862 hits)


These events are free and open to the public -
- Sponsored by the ASU Counseling Center & The Council of Substance Abuse (COSA) & Rehabilitation Services -

FIRST ONE - TUESDAY MORNING
WHEN: Tuesday morning, 11 a.m. - 1 p.m.
WHAT: A Suicide Prevention Forum.
WHERE: The ASU Hardy Student Center, in its second-floor ballroom.

SECOND ONE - TUESDAY EVENING
WHEN: Tuesday evening, 6:30 - 8 p.m.
WHAT: A campus tribute to suicide prevention.
WHERE: The ASU Amphitheater, located in the courtyard of the ASU Hardy Student Center.

Did you know that every 16 minutes someone dies from a suicide and every 43 seconds, someone attempts to kill themselves? In an effort to help reduce these chilling statistics, Alabama State University is hosting two events on Tuesday that are designed to offer a forum for suicide prevention and a tribute to those impacted by it. It offers you an important news media story, which directly impacts many of your news's consumers here in the River Region.

The events are sponsored by the ASU Counseling Center and The Council of Substance Abuse (COSA), and Rehabilitation Services who will be on hand at both events to grant interviews.-
