Special Screening of the 'I Am HBCU Proud' Short Film Series (409 hits)

On Wednesday, March 27, 2019 from 4pm to 7pm EST, in honor of HBCU Awareness Month, Xfinity’s Black Film & TV and Aspire TV will host a special screening of “I Am HBCU Proud,” an original series of short films featuring celebrity deejay DJ Drama, Extra TV host Tanika Ray and Comcast employees, as they share their personal and at times, colorful HBCU experiences and stories. The screening will be followed by a special panel discussion featuring some of today’s top film and TV executives.

In addition, Xfinity’s top HR recruiting team members will be present to discuss career opportunities, engage in informational sessions and collect promising leads from the community for available job opportunities within Comcast. The Xfinity On Campus team will also be present to demo products and show students how they can save money and access this free TV service.

The “I Am HBCU Proud” panel discussion will feature top creatives in the film and television industry. Hosted by Stevie Baggs Jr., from Aspire TV’s series ‘Mancation,’ the event will offer key tips and advice on how to get your foot in the door in the entertainment industry. Keesha Boyd, Executive Director of Multicultural Consumer Services for Comcast will have opening remarks and TV & Film Fireside Chat/Panel and Q&A moderated by Justin Malone.
