Kendrick Meek Cheers Long Overdue Jobs Increase, Credits Recovery Act with Turnaround
Kendrick Meek today released the following statement regarding the economy adding 162,000 new jobs last month.
"Today's long overdue news is the clearest indication yet that we're on the road from recession to recovery. Florida is facing the worst economic crisis since the Great Depression, but we're moving full steam ahead to create good-paying jobs and get our economy back on track. More work needs to be done, but one thing is clear: the Recovery Act is working and is saving and creating jobs across the country. I will not rest until unemployed Floridians are able to find work, but today's announcement is an encouraging sign that the economy is turning around."
