Video: Meek Slams Jeff Greene on Betting Against Florida Homeowners, Governor Crist's Flip on Drilling on ABC'

Kendrick Meek · Thursday, June 10th 2010 at 5:39PM · 338 views
MIAMI GARDENS, FLA. - Kendrick Meek went on ABC's "Top Line" today and blasted Jeff Greene on making his fortune by betting against middle class homeowners, Greene's voting record, and Governor Crist's support of drilling off Florida beaches before the Gulf oil spill (http://abcnews.go.com/Politics/video/race-florida-senator-10878364).

"In this race, you have one person in the race with $3,500 in the bank and another who is a billionaire that made his money off of uncovered credit default swaps betting against Floridians to fail as it relates to their home mortgages," Kendrick said when asked about Jeff Greene's candidacy. "(Voters) are not going to identify with someone who worked on Wall Street and profited off of the failure of mortgages."

Kendrick was asked about his strategy in the race.

"First things first. First, take care of the billionaire who showed up in Florida in 2008 ... and then deal with Marco Rubio who is 'Republican Right,' and Charlie Crist who is 'Republican Lite'... I'm the true Democrat in the race and evidence will show that," Kendrick responded.
