Two Conservatives Agree: Carroll For Lt. Gov.

MIAMI GARDENS, FLA. -- Today two conservative candidates running for Florida's U.S. Senate seat praised Republican Gubernatorial candidate Rick Scott's choice of Jennifer Carroll as a running mate. "Jennifer Carroll will be an awesome LG," tweeted Marco Rubio (http://twitter.com/marcorubio/status/22801481963). "Crist calls Carroll a 'great pick' for LG," tweeted Gary Fineout, a longtime Florida reporter (http://twitter.com/fineout/status/22798019978).

"Add Rick Scott's selection of Republican Jennifer Carroll to the long list where Marco Rubio and Charlie Crist agree," said Kendrick Meek spokesman Dave Hoffman. "From extending the Bush tax cuts for the wealthy to putting the interests of big developers before the needs of the middle class, to Rick Scott's running mate, Marco Rubio and Charlie Crist are one of the same. Middle-class Floridian families need a Real Democrat who will fight for them -- not politicians that are more interested in advancing their careers."

According to the Orlando Sentinel, Caroll was "on the short list for Lieutenant Governor in 2006 before Charlie Crist tapped Jeff Kottkamp" (http://blogs.orlandosentinel.com/news_politics/2010/09/its-official-scott-names-rep-carroll-as-lg-nominee.html) Crist also interviewed Carroll following the retirement of U.S. Senator Mel Martinez (R-Fl), before picking his conservative campaign manager, George Lemieux (www.kendrickmeek.com/index.php/weblog/archive/meek_campaign_congratulates_crists_handpicked_conservative_senator/).
