Representing Oakwood University, Dr. Leslie Pollard, Dr. Olivia Beverly, and Dr. David Richardson will serve as panelists on a ZOOM Conference hosted by Tennessee State University and the HBCU Action Nation on May 14 and 15.

The Thursday activities will be opened by The Aeolians of Oakwood University's rendition of “We Shall Overcome” at 7:30 a.m. (Eastern). Dr. Pollard will serve on the Presidents’ Panel on Thursday at 9:00 a.m. and Dr. Beverly will serve on a panel addressing Teaching, Learning, and Operations at 11:30. On Friday, Dr. Richardson will serve on the Enrollment Management panel at 1:30 p.m.

“I am honored to share the perspective and practices we have developed in the advancement of Oakwood University with the nation,” said President Pollard. “In the face of an unprecedented global disruption, I believe that God has led our Board of Trustees, our administrators, our faculty and staff, and our response team to do the right things at the right times for our students. Much of what we experience now began years ago. In humility, we are now reaping some the rewards of an earlier vision. And yet, there is still much to learn as we go forward,” he concluded.

Other participants include Dr. Belle Wheelan, President of Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC); Dr. Kim Cliett Long, '82, Board and External Affairs Committee Member, Online Learning Consortium; Dr. Xernona Clayton, Civil Rights Leader; Mr. Johnathan Holifield, Director, White House Initiative on HBCUs; Mr. John Miller, CEO of Denny’s Inc.; and many more.
