Exchanging ideas and aspirations is always a good idea. Committed to this belief, Florida Memorial University has agreed to host the Black Executive Exchange Program (BEEP). The prestigious event, which takes place February 9 - 10, 2011, is sponsored by the University’s Career Development Center and the National Urban League.
"BEEP is a voluntary partnership between the National Urban League, corporate America, government, non-profits, and other institutions to loan African-American executives to participating colleges as 'Visiting Professors.' Visiting Professors (BEEPers) lecture in credit-bearing courses that correspond to their industries and participate in other BEEP-related activities such as networking sessions, workshops panel discussions, etc. A great deal of our BEEPers continuously return to Florida Memorial and lend their support to the program," stated Athena Jackson, director of the University’s Career Development Center and coordinator of BEEP.
Successful men and women from around the country who are leaders in various career fields such as aviation, human resources, finance, and government will be in attendance to influence Florida Memorial University students. This opportunity provides students a chance to develop mentors, gain access to internships, and network.
