HBCU Lacrosse Consortium and Howard University Recreation, Intramural and Club Sports Announce First Annual HBCU National Lacrosse All Star Game to be held Sunday, November 17, 2013
The Historically Black Colleges & Universities (HBCU) Lacrosse Consortium and Howard University Recreation, Intramural and Club Sports will be hosting the 1st Annual HBCU Lacrosse All Star Game at Howard University’s Greene Stadium on Sunday, November 17 at 1 p.m. The HBCU Lacrosse Consortium consists of representatives from Hampton University, Howard University, Morehouse College and Morgan State University who have combined to “Grow the Game” by showcasing current lacrosse athletes from each of these institutions.
In an effort to generate interest among other HBCUs into the Lacrosse movement, the HBCU Lacrosse Consortium is currently reaching out for participation from athletes at other HBCU institutions such as Alabama State University, Bethune-Cookman University, Bowie State University, Delaware State University, Florida A&M University, Lincoln University, Norfolk State University, North Carolina A&T University and North Carolina Central University.
The HBCU All Star Lacrosse Consortium is working closely with other lacrosse advocates to provide prospective HBCU students/lacrosse athletes an opportunity to play the sport at the university/college level. As one of the fastest growing sports in the United States, the current lacrosse programs are enjoying the opportunity to add to the diversity of student-athlete recruitment. We are excited about the response from current HBCU Lacrosse programs as well as the prospective HBCU’s athletes who will be participating in the HBCU Lacrosse All Star Game at the high school level.
Registration to participate in the HBCU All Star Lacrosse Game is located at
http://hbculacrosse.com. Admission to this event is free.
