
TWC is excited to announce a new
internship opportunity with the Naval Research Laboratory, called the
NRL Summer Research Program, for the
summer 2016 term. This new program specifically asks for HBCU/MI students – and positions will go fast!
Accepted applicants will be able to: work 40 hours per week under the guidance of senior NRL staff; conduct “hands on” laboratory research; be an active participant in major research programs; attend scientific and skill-set seminars; and, sharpen their professional skills through various projects and assignments.
While many students will be considered, the program is designed for backgrounds in
Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM). Some of the specific
projects may include, but are not limited to:
- Molecular Engineering
- Microbotics: Engineering and Design
- Cybersecurity
- Microstructural Studies
- Elastomers and Functional Polymers
- Computational Design of Materials
- And much more!
Internships through the Naval Research Laboratory are
fully-funded and paid opportunities. In addition, some support is provided for travel and other expenses. There is
no out-of-pocket cost for participation.
To be considered for this opportunity, applications must be received by
February 4, 2016.
