Qualifications

TYPING PROFICIENCY: This position requires the skills of a qualified typist. In addition to meeting the experience and/or education requirements, you must be able to type at least 40 words per minute. AND SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must possess at least one (1) full year of specialized experience that equipped you with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of a Time and Leave Clerk (Office Automation), and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level (GS-4) in the Federal service. Specialized experience processing and maintaining attendance and leave records for employees, knowledge of pay and/or leave rules, regulations, procedures, programs, and system requirements and using office automation software such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook) to enter and retrieve data, prepare documents, etc. NOTE: Experience must be fully documented on your resume and must include job title, duties, month and year start/end dates AND hour worked per week. OR EDUCATION SUBSTUTATION: Have you successfully completed 4 years of education above the high school level? This education must have been obtained in an accredited business, secretarial, or technical school, junior college, college or university This education must have been obtained in an accredited technical school, junior college, college or university for which high school graduation is the normal prerequisite. OR COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: Equivalent combination of successfully completed post-high school education (beyond the second year) and specialized experience as described above, which meet the total experience requirements for this grade level. NOTE: Transcripts must be submitted at time of application. Physical Demands: The work may require some physical effort such as standing, walking, bending, or sitting. May require moving and picking up of corrugated packing boxes containing files during purging and storing of records.
