This position contributes to the Cryptographic Security program, with a focus on building and evolving secure, scalable cryptographic services and the DCaaS (Distributed Crypto as a Service) product. The role supports encryption, key management, and data protection capabilities that are foundational to Mastercards digital payment platforms. <br><br>Role<br> Operating with increased independence, the Software Engineer II works within Agile delivery teams to design, develop, test, and maintain highavailability, securitycritical services. <br> The role partners with product, security, and platform stakeholders to deliver resilient solutions that meet regulatory, performance, and enterprisegrade security requirements.<br> Design, develop, test, and maintain software applications in accordance with Mastercard engineering, security, and quality standards<br> Own software delivery tasks at the application or component level, including development, testing, and deployment<br> Troubleshoot, refactor, and enhance existing code to improve performance, reliability, and maintainability<br> Participate in technical design discussions, code reviews, and solution evaluations<br> Collaborate with crossfunctional partners to deliver solutions aligned to business requirements<br> Contribute to technical documentation and knowledge sharing<br> Support production incidents and operational activities as required<br> Assist in mentoring and supporting less experienced engineers<br> Identify and contribute to continuous improvement of engineering processes and practices<br><br><br>All About You / Experience<br> Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent experience<br> Demonstrated professional experience in software engineering or application development<br> Proficiency in one or more programming languages and experience delivering productionquality code (Go/Rust preferred)<br> Solid understanding of software design principles, data structures, and development methodologies<br> Experience working in Agile or iterative development environments<br> Strong analytical, problemsolving, and communication skills<br> Ability to work independently on assigned tasks while collaborating effectively within a team<br> Familiarity with secure coding practices, testing frameworks, and version control systems<h3></h3><p style="text-align:inherit"></p>Mastercard is a merit-based, inclusive, equal opportunity employer that considers applicants without regard to gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, race, ethnicity, disabled or veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law. The base salary offered may vary depending on multiple factors, including but not limited to location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Mastercard benefits for full time (and certain part time) employees generally include: insurance (including medical, prescription drug, dental, vision, disability, life insurance); flexible spending account and health savings account; paid leaves (including 16 weeks of new parent leave and up to 20 days of bereavement leave); 80 hours of Paid Sick and Safe Time, 25 days of vacation time and 5 personal days, pro-rated based on date of hire; 10 annual paid U.S. observed holidays; 401k with a best-in-class company match; deferred compensation for eligible roles; fitness reimbursement or on-site fitness facilities; eligibility for tuition reimbursement; and many more.
