ABOUT THE POSITION
VHB is looking for an Entry Level ITS/Traffic Engineer to join our Transportation Traffic Operations and Transportation Technology group in our Lansdale, PA office. The selected candidate will work with a team of transportation engineers & planners on a variety of public, private and institutional projects within broad cross-section of markets, including private sector development, municipal, state agencies, higher education and federal agencies such as the national parks service.
Responsibilities
- Working within a team of professionals in developing traffic and transportation engineering solutions for a multitude of transportation projects
- Traffic impact studies
- Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) Planning & Design
- Traffic Signal Design
- Safety studies
- Transportation planning analyses
- Research and interpret transportation data, community statistics and demographics
- Prepare written documents, summarize information collected by others, and assemble reports
- Traffic data collection and tabulation
- Intersection and roadway level of service analyses
Skills and Attributes
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
- Team oriented with strong capability to work independently
- Self-motivated with attention to detail
- Ability to think critically
- Strong computer skills
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word and Excel) required
Qualifications
- BS in Civil Engineering
- 0-1 years of professional transportation engineering experience
- EIT preferred
- Experience with Civil 3D/OpenRoads Designer a plus
- Experience with Synchro, Vissim, and/or HCS a plus
- Experience with ArcGIS a plus
Our best estimate of the salary range for this position is $80,000-83,000. The final compensation will be based on a variety of factors including internal comparators, skills, education, training, credentials, experience, scope and complexity of role responsibilities and geographic location.
