With three campuses along Colorado’s Front Range, FRCC is the state’s largest community college. We enroll close to 28,000 students annually from our diverse service area, which offers a variety of cultural and recreational activities.

Each year approximately 5,000 FRCC students transfer to four-year universities and FRCC offers more than 36 career training programs that prepare students for immediate employment and rewarding careers. Last year, more than 5,000 high school students took concurrent enrollment classes with us, earning college credit without having to pay college tuition. And we were recently ranked as one of the “Top Online Colleges” in the country by Newsweek.

Who You Are

The School of Liberal Arts, Communication, and Design is committed to empowering students to meet their educational goals through collaboration, developing students’ identities, active learning in the classroom, and promoting equity and inclusion as educators and colleagues.

The instructional responsibilities for this full-time position involve teaching all levels of music offered at FRCC. The full-time faculty teaching load is 15 credits per semester. In addition to teaching, this position acts as a music faculty lead, which includes managing music performance events, interdisciplinary partnerships, and community outreach. Music faculty collaborate with other faculty in the Music and Art programs at all FRCC campuses to provide program leadership and student support. Concurrent enrollment courses, online courses, and evening classes may be assigned.

Full-time Music Faculty at FRCC are expected to utilize culturally responsive teaching strategies and innovative approaches to learning that develop critical thinking skills, maximize student retention and success, and support a learner-centered environment. They are required to participate in college, campus, and department committees and other academic and institutional support activities.

Full-time faculty are expected to assume instructional leadership roles, including hiring and mentoring part-time instructors, mentoring concurrent enrollment instructors, and serving as lead faculty or department chair. Full-time faculty are life-long learners and pursue professional development to enhance their understanding and application of pedagogy, technology, and cultural competence.

In addition to providing quality education, full-time faculty are expected to perform other professional duties which may include, but are not limited to: developing curriculum, scheduling classes, advising students, working with industry or community groups, assessing student academic achievement, recruiting students, sponsoring student activities, providing job placement and community outreach services, serving on institution-wide committees and statewide task forces, and participating in professional organizations which enhance the educational mission of the college.

This position does have the opportunity to work remotely occasionally but does require a strong on-campus presence and may require occasional travel to all three FRCC campuses.

SELECTION PROCESS: Position will remain open until filled with a priority deadline of March 30, 2026. This posting may be used to fill multiple or similar positions.

The selection process for the Music Faculty will be conducted through a competitive, merit-based evaluation of all qualified applicants. Preliminary screening will be made on the basis of a completed application package submitted by the candidate. Completed application package includes:

A resume or CV;
A letter of interest;
A copy of official transcripts;
A one-page statement of your teaching philosophy; and
A list of courses and the semesters you have taught (if applicable).
Qualifications & Requirements
Required Education/Training & Work Experience:

A Master’s degree in one of several related degrees listed below.
OR

A Master’s degree in any field, plus 18 graduate credits in one of the related degrees listed below.
AND

2000 verified occupational/industry hours within seven (7) years.
Related Degree: Music, Music Education, Musicology
