Work you'll do
As a PROJECT - Software Engineer II on the AI & Engineering team, you will be responsible for:
- Supporting cloud migration and hybrid integration activities across development, test, and production environments, including builds, configuration, documentation, validation, cutover preparation, and transition-to-Operations and Maintenance (O&M) handoff
- Implementing cloud infrastructure changes in alignment with approved designs for cloud migrations and hybrid integrations
- Assisting with environment setup and configuration for test, lab, and pre-production validation activities
- Executing deployment and cutover runbooks, capturing evidence, updating procedures, and documenting incident triage outcomes during operational testing windows
- Developing and maintaining technical documentation, including configuration notes, diagrams, standard operating procedures, runbooks, and remediation tracking support

Deloitte's Government & Public Services practice serves federal, state, and local government clients, as well as public higher education institutions, with technology, insight, and delivery capabilities designed for impact. Within this practice, the Engineering as a Service offering provides end-to-end design, implementation, and technology operations support to help modernize platforms, transform engineering teams, and deliver complex programs with a product engineering mindset.
This opportunity sits within the Deloitte US Delivery Center model, which provides high-quality, cost-effective services through standardized processes and delivery approaches. US Delivery Center professionals work from specific delivery center locations and support client needs with nominal travel requirements.
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- Must be able to obtain and maintain the required clearance for this role
- 3+ years of experience in cloud engineering in Amazon Web Services (AWS) or Microsoft Azure, including cloud migrations and hybrid networking
- 3+ years of experience using infrastructure as code tools such as Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, Bicep, or Azure Resource Manager (ARM), and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) practices
- 3+ years of experience developing operational documentation and runbooks to support transition activities
- Ability to travel 15%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.
Preferred:
- Experience troubleshooting cloud environments across build, testing, validation, and documentation handoff activities
The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $74,900 to $147,600.
You may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
