[In Memoriam] Today, The Black Scholars Index celebrates the life of Jaunita W. Goggins. She also became the first African-American woman to serve on the United States Civil Rights Commission. To add to her list of firsts, she was also the first African-American woman to serve as a state delegate to the Democratic National Convention in 1972.
