Miami Gardens, Fla. - While Speaker Rubio and Governor Crist continue to engage in a battle about political philosophy, Kendrick Meek is fighting to bring new, long term green energy jobs to Florida, a pledge he shared with 200 supporters in Clearwater on Saturday night.
"In order to build a sustainable economy, Florida needs to catch the green industry wave that will play a vital role in tomorrow's economy. Thousands of good Florida jobs can come from these industries. Florida can become a national leader for green energy research and development, but it will take a hands-on approach rather than imposing a political philosophy on Florida to get it done. People of our state need a leader who will put politics last and instead focus on getting our economy working again for middle class families," said Kendrick Meek, Democratic candidate for U.S. Senate.
On Saturday night, more than 200 campaign supporters showed up in Clearwater to hear Kendrick's plan to rebuild Florida's economy. Earlier this month, Kendrick visited a green jobs training facility in St. Lucie County that is already giving workers the skills they need to find work in tomorrow's green economy.
