As Floridians across the state celebrate Earth Day today, Democrat Kendrick Meek renewed his fight to bring clean energy jobs to the state:
"Here in Florida, our abundance of sunshine attracts visitors from across the globe. Sunshine is truly one of our most valuable resources. But, in these tough economic times, we can do more to utilize our natural resources. By spurring innovation and investing in renewable energy like wind and solar power, Florida can become an incubator of clean energy jobs and build the foundation for long-term, sustainable economic growth. But Floridians know it will take leaders with a hands-on approach committed to bringing jobs back home to Florida to get it done. I will continue to fight to rebuild an economy that works for Florida families," said Kendrick Meek, Democratic candidate for U.S. Senate.
Earlier this month, Kendrick visited a clean energy jobs training facility in St. Lucie County that is already giving workers the skills they need to find work in tomorrow's clean energy economy. He met with instructors and trainees who are building the foundations for Florida's clean energy revival.
