http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pS8b1RtCQUs MIAMI GARDENS, FLA. - As Kendrick Meek urges Governor Charlie Crist to veto HB 1143, a draconian anti-privacy legislation, commonly referred to as the ultrasound bill, Kendrick Meek's U.S. Senate campaign released a web video of Governor Charlie Crist promoting his anti-woman, anti-choice credentials outside of the Christian Family Coalition breakfast on February 27, 2010. You can watch the video here (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pS8b1RtCQUs).
The video quotes Governor Crist speaking to cameras outside the event, declaring, "I'm a pro-life, pro-gun, pro-family and anti-tax. And I always have been, and I think that's abundantly clear. That's what people want, someone who will just tell them the truth."
Kendrick Meek has been endorsed by NARAL Pro-Choice America and is the only consistently pro-choice candidate in the race.
"Governor Crist may want to hide his conservative past, but he won't be able to escape his long record fighting against a woman's right to choose," said Kendrick Meek for Senate Communications Director Adam Sharon. "Both Governor Crist and Speaker Rubio are two anti-choice conservatives who have built their political careers around being on the wrong side of choice and privacy issues. Governor Crist's decision will be driven by politics, not personal conviction or leadership - but that's nothing new. Don't be fooled. Kendrick Meek is the only candidate in this race who has fought his entire career for privacy and a woman's right to choose."
