Trying to counter signs of cool Democratic establishment support for Kendrick Meek, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid today sent an e-mail to Meek's supporters asking for donations.
"Make no mistake about it, I am supporting Kendrick Meek for U.S. Senate in Florida, and so is President Obama," says Reid, who recently deflected speculation he was courting independent candidate Charlie Crist.
"President Obama's support is why Rahm Emanuel will be attending a fundraiser for Kendrick today to help ensure a real hardworking Democrat is elected to the U.S. Senate," Reid writes. He then asks for donations for Meek. (rest of letter below)
