
Rust College assistant history professor Dr. Marco Robinson has been selected for the 2010-2011 Mississippi Humanities Council "Faculty of the Year" Award. As part of the distinguished honor, he will make a presentation entitled, "By Their Fruits Ye Shall Know Them": Civil Rights Activism at Rust College and in Marshall County, 1957-1964. The lecture will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 6, 2010 in the Heard Auditorium of the McCarty-Varnell Business, Computer, & Social Science (BCS) Building at Rust College. The public is invited to attend.
A native of Hernando, Mississippi, Dr. Robinson received his undergraduate and graduate degrees in History from Jackson State University in Jackson, Mississippi and his Ph.D. in History from the University of Mississippi in Oxford. He is in his eighth year of teaching at Rust College.
Dr. Robinson will be honored at the Mississippi Humanities Council Awards Dinner on Friday, February 25, 2011 in Jackson, Mississippi.
