Harris-Stowe State University has been selected as a recipient of the 15th Annual Greater St. Louis Top 50 Award.
Presented by the St. Louis Regional Chamber and Growth Association (RCGA) and Rubin Brown, the prestigious Greater St. Louis Top 50 recognizes St. Louis businesses that best demonstrate significant contributions to the region and that have positively impacted the future of the business community.
"Harris-Stowe State University is honored to be selected as a Greater St. Louis Top 50 awardee for a second consecutive year," said HSSU President Henry Givens, Jr. "This accolade is emblematic of Harris-Stowe's dedication to community outreach and to businesses in the St. Louis region. Our business degrees are our fastest growing programs, and Harris-Stowe is elated to contribute to the expanding St. Louis business community."
Harris-Stowe State University's greatest contribution to the region is its talented graduates who benefit St. Louis' most reputable corporations as dedicated employees. HSSU's Anheuser-Busch School of Business (ABSB) cultivates knowledgeable and skilled professionals in the areas of Accounting, Business Administration, Health Care Management, Hospitality and Tourism Management, and Information Sciences & Computer Technology, and these Harris-Stowe graduates directly contribute to St. Louis' flourishing businesses.
Additionally, HSSU's Anheuser-Busch School of Business invests in the community through its Center for Entrepreneurship, which caters to the needs of local and regional minority entrepreneurs by providing business development expertise. Each year, approximately 1,000 St. Louisans benefit from ABSB's free Low-Income Taxpayer Clinic operated by HSSU business faculty and students.
Harris-Stowe State University uniquely supports the St. Louis region by catering to the educational needs of first-generation college students and ensuring an affordable and accessible education. Founded in 1857, Harris-Stowe has a long legacy of serving St. Louis and will continue to serve St. Louis as a Greater St. Louis Top 50 business.
On November 11, Harris-Stowe State University will be recognized for this remarkable achievement at the 2010 Gala Awards Dinner at the Hyatt Regency St. Louis at The Arch.
