
The Barbara Jordan-Mickey Leland School of Public Affairs will celebrate the launching of the Emergency Management and Homeland Security (EMHS) Bachelor of Science degree on August 23, 2013 at 6:00 p.m. in the McCoy Auditorium of the Barbara Jordan-Mickey Leland School of Public Affairs.
Tony Russell, Superintendent of the Emergency Management Institute for the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) in the Department of Homeland Security will be the guest speaker during the reception. The ceremony will also highlight collaborations with Lamar Institute of Technology and The Port of Houston Authority.
Texas Southern University is the first HBCU to launch an Emergency Management and Homeland Security degree in the southwest region of the nation.
