President Pollard announced this week that, beginning September 1, 2017, Dr. Colwick Wilson will begin serving Oakwood University as its Provost and Senior Vice President. He was endorsed by a unanimous action of the Executive Committee of the Oakwood University Board of Trustees on August 18.
Dr. Wilson brings a wealth of experience and training to the position of Provost. He received his Ph.D. in Sociology from the University of Michigan in 2003, and holds two masters degrees, one in sociology, and the other in counseling and leadership. He comes to Oakwood from the Kettering Health Network, where he served as Director of Resarch, Innovation and Grants. Dr. Wilson has served as an Associate Dean at Loma Linda University, Chair and Director of research activities for the department of counseling and family sciences, as well as a number of leadership positions in academia. He has also been a professor at a number of institutions, including Loma Linda and the Universtiy of Michigan.
He is married to Dr. Deleise Wilson, who currently serves as Director of Nursing at Kettering College. They have two daughters, Chidi and Lissie, who are both students at Oakwood University.

His leadership will accelerate our trajectory to the next level."
Dr. Wilson shared that he is "excited, grateful and humbled by the invitation to join with President Pollard, the Board of Trustees, the Oakwood University faculty and staff, and our students in advancing Vision 2020, and the strategic initiatives of this outstanding university that has impacted the world through its graduates."
