Kendrick Meek Honors Our Nation's Veterans on Memorial Day
MIAMI GARDENS, FLA. - Kendrick Meek, Democratic candidate for U.S. Senate, today issued the following statement on Memorial Day:
"Today, we honor the courageous men and women in uniform who have given their lives in service of our nation. We can never fully repay our debt to them and their families, but we can honor their memory in both word and deed.
"Let us not forget that we are a nation at war. In all, over 260 Floridians have given their lives in Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom. Today, we remember and pray for their families and hope for the speedy and safe return of all our service members.
"On this Memorial Day, we not only remember and honor all the servicemen and women who have made the ultimate sacrifice to our nation but also recommit to upholding our promise to them and their families."
