Oprah Winfrey hands out $10,000 checks to magazine publisher employees
Oprah Winfrey is feeling generous yet again. Last month, according to a new story by Perez Hilton, the talk-show queen made a pit stop at Hearst Publications -- who put out her monthly O Magazine -- and gave everyone a number of gifts, regardless of how long the staffer had worked there:
* A new iPad (great for tech geeks)
* A leather suitcase with their initials engraved in them (great for people who like suitcases)
* A check for $10,000 (great for everyone)
What's the reason behind the move? O Magazine is celebrating its 10th anniversary, and Oprah wants everyone to know just how appreciate she is of their support.
So is this as dramatic as screaming "everybody gets a car" in a crowded studio? Not really, but the employees at Hearst probably are equally excited.
